EMS PRIORITY CODES FOR WESTMORELAND COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA

The following EMS dispatching priority codes were used starting in December, 2005, replacing the former "E1" "E2" etc., codes:

• OMEGA (lowest priority) - routine non-medical calls, lift assists, standbys, etc. [rarely used]
• ALPHA - (lowest priority for actual medical purposes) - BLS staffing/first responders
• BETA - calls involving bleeding are BETA of higher
• CHARLIE - dependent on medical nature and patient history
• DELTA - dependent on medical nature and patient history
• ECHO (highest priority) - always lights/siren expedited call, ALS staffing

The above codes appear to have fallen into disuse in Westmoreland County by 2009.
